Chris Pratt was born June 21, 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota, the son of Kathy (née Indahl), who worked at a Safeway supermarket, and Dan Pratt, who died in June 2014, and who worked in gold mining and later remodeling houses. Pratt was raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he placed fifth in a state wrestling tournament as a high school student. His wrestling coach recalled asking Pratt what he wished to do with his life. Pratt relates, "I was like, 'I don't know, but I know I'll be famous and I know I'll make a shit ton of money.' I had no idea how. I'd done nothing proactive. It was as dumb as someone saying, 'I'll probably be an astronaut. I'm sure I'll stumble into an astronaut suit and end up in space one day.'".

Pratt dropped out of a local community college after one semester, and after working as a coupon salesman and a day time stripper, he ended up homeless in Maui, sleeping in a van and in a tent on the beach. Pratt told The Independent, "It's a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies." Pratt recalled listening to the Dr. Dre album 2001 daily to the point where he knew "every word to that album". Years later he was able to perform Eminem's vocals from the song "Forgot About Dre" extemporaneously during an interview.

CHRIS PRATT IS GQ 2014 MEN OF THE YEAR

Today you are going to learn all about Chris Pratt, and the biggest thing you'll learn is that he is awesome. That's probably not a shock to you. Chances are you've seen Pratt in a movie or a TV show in recent years and you've thought to yourself, That guy looks kind of cool. So many actors seem like cocks, but I would hang with that guy! Your instincts have served you well. Chris Pratt is as advertised. He is not a cock.

The fact that he starred in two of the biggest movies this year—The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy (both of which featured the word awesome in their theme music)—is but the tip of the iceberg. Pratt's awesomeness can be subdivided into no fewer than forty-one parts. I only spent a day with the guy, and in that day we shot guns, we grilled dead animals, we got mad at as shole drivers, we busted out some really good whiskey, we smoked cigars, we hung out at his house, we talked about strippers and compound bows, and he told highly amusing stories about Mickey Rourke and David Letterman being dicks. All of that is awesome. None of that is lame. I don't really want to share Pratt with you, frankly. HANDS OFF I SAW HIM FIRST.
Yep, it's gonna get very journo-porny around here, and I apologize in advance. But Pratt is a one-man industry of awesome. He is a BuzzFeed listicle that your mommy forwards to you, in human form. So let's turn this thing into an awesome Chris Pratt-icle starting NOW.

1. Chris Pratt will bring all the firearms to the party.
I don't have to pack anything for today's man-date in Los Angeles. Pratt's bringing the guns, the ammo, and the clay pigeons. Later, he will also insist on paying our grocery tab. He picks me up outside my hotel in his blood red Ford F-150 Raptor pickup. A big kick-ass American **** YOU truck. You could fit Oklahoma inside it. Where did he get this truck? I'm glad I'm pretending you asked!

2. He bought the truck two weeks ago, on the way back from a bachelor party in Reno.
It was a chill bachelor party. A mature, stripper-free bachelor party. Just a bunch of guys sitting around, getting smashed on homemade whiskey. "I was pretty worthless the whole weekend," he says. He bought the truck and drove it back to L.A. in time to be on the set of Parks and Recreation the next morning. How could Pratt make a $50,000 impulse purchase just like that?

3. Because Chris Pratt motherfucking owned everyone's motherfucking shit this year.
He starred in the number one and number three highest-grossing movies of 2014: Guardians of the Galaxy, in which he surprised everyone by deftly anchoring a new Marvel Studios franchise, and The Lego Movie, which surprised everyone by being a razor-sharp, legitimately funny comedy and not a glorified toy commercial. The massive success of Guardians was a particular shock, given that Pratt had never headlined a movie before, and given that no one had previously given a crap about Guardians (apologies to the comic's three loyal fanboys), and given that Pratt, playing a character named Star-Lord, spent the movie surrounded by a green alien, a homicidal raccoon, and a grunting tree. But he pulled that off, even though...

4. Everyone originally thought he was too fat for the role.
"I thought it was an insane idea to cast the fat guy from Parks and Rec as the lead of our superhero movie," says Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. "I didn't really even want to see him." You can probably guess what happened next: Skeptical director brings in fat, unheralded actor for an audition and is BLOWN AWAY, so much so that...

5. Star-Lord was almost fat.
Says Gunn: "I thought, Well, hell, he's overweight, but if that means we have the world's first overweight superhero, I'm okay with it." Pratt didn't see the problem, either. "You can make a talking raccoon that looks real," he told me. "Why can't I just be fat?"

6. But he lost the weight and got ripped anyway...
"I like the challenge of it."

7. ...and now he says Fat Pratt is gone for good.
"I'm done with that," he says. The week after we meet, he'll be hosting the season premiere of SNL, so he's on a no-starch (BOO) and no-booze (BOOOOO) diet. "I just feel like, if I drink, I want to drink a case of beer and not two beers. Two beers doesn't do anything for me." Attaboy. When I tell him I had pancakes for breakfast this morning, I see the ghost of Fat Pratt. "That sounds so goddamn good."

8. Chris Pratt loves shootin' stuff!

9. His dad was a gold miner, yo in remote Alaska
They lived there for about four years—until Pratt's father realized it was too dangerous for three little kids "because there's fuckin' bears and shit everywhere," Chris recalls. The Pratts eventually relocated to Washington State, but Alaska is where Chris's lifelong love of guns began.

We arrive at Angeles Shooting Ranges, on the outskirts of Los Angeles. We're here to blow up some clay pigeons with shotguns, and it's louder than hell. There's a dude in a LeBron Cavs jersey firing an assault rifle. There are big men teaching tiny women how to fire big-ass handguns. The BANGS and POPS and PINGS come from all directions, as if everyone is shooting at frying pans. It sounds like a Looney Tunes shoot-out. We're going to need earplugs. I buy a couple of cheap foamies, and of course one gets stuck in my ear, because God wants to make me look stupid in front of my new BFF. Stupid God.

10. Chris Pratt will pull a jammed earplug out of your ear for you.
I ask for some help, and with no hesitation, Pratt digs right into my ear canal and yanks it out.
Are we wax brothers now? "Yeah, we're wax bros," he says. "That's just a little bit grosser than blood brothers."
Now we're ready to shoot. Pratt has brought two shotguns for us to use: a single-shot breakaway, his first gun.

Rasakan Pengalaman Mendebarkan Chris Pratt di Trailer 'Jurassic World'

Setelah merilis teaser 20 detik dari film "Jurassic World", Universal telah merilis trailer film tersebut di YouTube. Trailer ini dibuka dengan adegan pasangan orang tua yang melepas kedua anaknya untuk liburan.

Setelah itu ditampilkan rombongan wisatawan Jurassic World yang menaiki kapal pesiar menuju taman yang berisi binatang-binatang purba seperti dinosaurus. Di sana terdapat banyak keseruan yang ditampilkan diantaranya kemegahan suasana taman, dan wisatawan dapat merasakan dinosaurus yang berlarian di alam bebas.

Namun keindahan di taman Jurassic World tersebut tidak berlangsung lama. Klimaks film ini dimulai ketika seekor dinosaurus lepas dari kandangnya.

Sementara itu, Chris Pratt yang berperan sebagai Owen menemukan bekas cakaran dinosaurus di sebuah dinding. Pengalaman yang sesungguhnya dimulai di sini dan akan memicu banyak kejadian mengerikan lainnya.

Film "Jurassic World" akan rilis pada tanggal 12 Juni 2015 mendatang. Film ini juga dibintangi oleh Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Vincent D'Onofrio, dan lain-lain.

'Do not try this at home': Chris Pratt gets cozy with a velociraptor in new photo from Jurassic World

If anyone needed a reason to get excited about the upcoming Jurassic Park reboot, Jurassic World, a photo of star Chris Pratt hanging out with a dinosaur might do it.

The newest still from the upcoming movie shows the 35-year-old actor standing comfortably with a sharp-toothed creature just over his shoulder.

Despite the lethal nature of the reptile, Chris' character Owen almost looks to be buddies with the velociraptor standing next to him.

Sony Hack: Chris Pratt And Channing Tatum To Team Up In 'Ghostbusters' Movie Reboot?

With recent hacking of Sony's confidential information, one of the top secret emails that went out in the open was the teaming up of Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt in the reboot of Ghostbusters movie. If there is one good thing that can come out of the hacking, this is definitely one of them!

New emails that were disclosed allegedly divulged Tatum "pitching" to producers of Sony for the Ghostbusters film, making it a series, which will also star his good friend and now everyone's favorite Chris Pratt. How true is this?

"Let us show the world The DarkSide and let us fight it with all the glory and epicness of a HUGE BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE. I know we can make this a huge franchise. Fun adventure craziness. COME OONNNN!!!" Channing allegedly wrote in the email sent to Sony's executive Amy Pascal. The new Ghostbusters movie is going to be "simultaneously super scary while also super funny" according to the email. There's no doubt about this one should Sony approve of the 2 actors playing major roles because both are very good at being hilariously funny, don't you think? We agree with HollywoodLifers saying that both gorgeous actors Tatum and Pratt will be the "2 hottest Ghostbusters" to grace the big screen.

With the recent rumor that the movie will have an all-female main characters, the mail from Tatum was not in contradiction to the original plan because the film with Tatum and Pratt in it "could exist alongside the all-female" version. Another leaked email from Hannah Minghella, Sony's Co-President of Production for Columbia Pictures, "Personally I think it's possible for the female version to co-exist with this other version so maybe they're not mutually exclusive."

Chris Pratt is USA Today 2014 Movie Star of the Year

Why: The star of box-office powerhouses keeps it real as a humble celeb and caring father.

To date, The Lego Movie has earned $257.8 million and Guardians of the Galaxy has raked in $332.6 million. Yet the star of both films, Chris Pratt, remains pretty much the nicest, most humble and coolest guy in Hollywood. He's seemingly happily married to actress Anna Faris, and his ego is inversely proportional to his impressive pecs.

"You break your heart when your expectations are not met,'' he told USA TODAY earlier this year. "I'm in these movies. But there's no guarantee that anyone will go see these movies. They can make zero dollars total. It's not hard to lower expectations. It's all about keeping your eyes on the prize and doing good work."

Pratt has no trouble keeping things firmly in perspective. Note what he said at a fundraiser for the March of Dimes when he talked about his son Jack, who was born prematurely in 2012: "Just about nine weeks early. He was three pounds, 12 ounces. Anna got to hold him for a moment and then it was off to the neonatal intensive care unit. ... He had a feeding tube and just wires in and out, and he lived in that incubator. That was his first crib."

Movies are fun — he'll star in Jurassic World, out June 12 — but they take a backseat to what matters. "I've done all kinds of cool stuff as an actor," he said at the fundraiser. "I've gotten to jump out of helicopters and do daring stunts and play baseball in a professional stadium, but none of them mean anything compared to being somebody's daddy."

No one loses in Chris Evans and Chris Pratt's Super Bowl bet

Captain America’s favorite NFL team, the New England Patriots, may have emerged victorious at Sunday night’s Super Bowl, but both the Cap (Chris Evans) and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) are fulfilling their ends of a Super Bowl bet for two good causes.

But Seattle Children’s Hospital, which was to receive a visit from Evans as the Cap if the Seahawks won won’t be left superhero-less. Evans tweeted that he will be joining Pratt at Christopher’s Haven, which provides housing for families whose children are receiving cancer treatment at MassGeneral Hospital for Children in Boston, and both will also be going to Seattle. (The bet also had a fundraising component.)
