    Early Life.Christopher Robert "Chris" Evans (born June 13, 1981) is an American actor and film director. Chris Evans was born in Boston and raised in the town of Sudbury. His mother, Lisa (Capuano), is an artistic director at the Concord Youth Theater, and his father, Bob, is a dentist. He has two sisters, Carly, a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a high school drama and English teacher at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Shanna, and a younger brother, Scott, who was featured on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live. Their uncle, Mike Capuano, represents the same Massachusetts Congressional district formerly represented by Tip O'Neill. His mother is of half Italian and half Irish ancestry.


    Careers.Evans began his career on the television series Opposite *** (2000), moving to film in 2001 with Not Another Teen Movie. Evans made one of his first appearances on The Fugitive (2000) (CBS, 2000-2001), a remake of the 1960s series and feature film starring Harrison Ford. In the episode "Guilt", Evans played the son of a small-town sheriff who tries to exact revenge after Dr. Kimble - incognito as a liquor store owner - refuses to sell him and his friends alcohol. After small roles in Cherry Falls (2000) and The Newcomers (2000) - two unknown low-budget features - Evans appeared in Boston Public (2000) (Fox, 2000-2004) as a murder suspect. He then appeared in his first major feature, Not Another Teen Movie (2001). After filming a couple of television pilots he was confident would be successful - Just Married (2003) and Eastwick (2002) - he appeared in another listless teen comedy, The Perfect Score (2004). Then, Evans broke through to the Big Time, grabbing the lead in the kidnapping thriller, Cellular (2004), a suspenseful B movie with a cheesy gimmick.

    Evans then prepared himself for super stardom when he signed on to play "Johnny Storm" (a.k.a. The Human Torch)in Fantastic Four (2005), 20th Century Fox's long-awaited adaptation of the Marvel comic. Although the film was wildly uneven and disappointing, Evans nearly stole the show with his energetic, unfettered performance. In that year, itself, Chris was noticed by critics and made it into magazine and Internet countdowns, scoring himself #18 on E! Television's 2006 101 Sexiest Celebrity Bodies. The year 2007 also proved to be one successful year for Chris, as he had two movies released around the world that same year, starting with the second installment of the Marvel franchise Fantastic Four. Chris received positive reviews for his performance. The Nanny Diaries (2007), where Evans played "Harvard Hottie", showed his sensitive. The year 2008 saw Chris Evans part of the movie Street Kings (2008), playing the character "Detective Paul Diskant". Street Kings is a movie about police officers trying to cover up their wrongdoings and audiences got to see a serious side of Chris. In the same year, Chris also worked on releasing the movie, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (2008).


    Popular Projects.Evans is best known for his superhero roles as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007); and Steve Rogers / Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Marvel's The Avengers (2012) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), a role he will reprise in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).


    Personal Life.From 2004 to 2006, Evans dated actress Jessica Biel. He also dated actress Minka Kelly, in September 2012 after briefly dating her in 2007 but broke up again in October 2013.

    Captain America star Chris Evans cast as lovestruck writer in Playing It Cool​

    

    Before fans get to see Chris Evans reprise his iconic role as Captain America in Avengers: Age of Ultron which will hit the theaters May 1 next year, they can now watch him beginning this December 17 in the romantic comedy film Playing It Cool.
    

    
Directed by Justin Reardon and written by Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair, Playing It Cool will have Evans playing the part of the narrator, referred to only as the "Me" in the film, a movie scriptwriter who wants to do action but gets assigned instead by his boss to write a script for a romantic comedy. Since he hasn't really been in love, he was having a hard time even starting writing the script. That is, until one day, he meets "Her", the ideal girl of his dreams. Unfortunately for him, she happens to be already engaged to a "Stuffy" guy. With a circle of unconventional writer friends around him giving him advice on the different perspectives of love, he tries to just stay as friends with her. But it seems he can't. Will he win her over in the end? Will he get to finish his writing assignment? Find out when Playing It Cool hits the cinemas nearest you.
    

    
Aside from Evans who plays the first person narrator, Playing It Cool stars Michelle Monaghan as "Her," Ioan Gruffudd as "Stuffy," Anthony Macky as his boss Bryan, along with Aubrey Plaza, Luke Wilson and Topher Grace as his friends. Others in the cast include Martin Starr, Patrick Warburton, Giovanni Ribisi, Philip Baker Hall, Matthew Morrison and Ashley Tisdale
    

    
Following Playing It Cool but still before Avengers: Age of Ultron, Evans may get to be seen again in yet another poignant romantic comedy. Evans starred, directed and produced Before We Go which is already completed but still awaiting distribution schedule by RADiUS. Alice Eve and Mark Kassen co-stars with Evans in Before We Go.

Chris Evans shows off his shiny new award in the press room at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday (January 7) in Los Angeles.
    

    
The 33-year-old actor won the award for Favorite Action Movie Actor for his work in Captain America. Congrats, Chris!
