Discussion Penjelasan Singkat tentang TOEFL; IELTS; SAT; GRE; GMAT

Terima kasih telah mengunjungi dan menggunakan forum dan thread ini. Ada banyak publisher yang mencetak buku IELTS. Buku IELTS sendiri terdiri dari setidaknya empat macam. Buku yang membahas grammar, buku yang membahas kosakata, buku yang membahas tahap demi tahap materi dan tips IELTS dan terakhir buku yang berisikan Soal ujian IELTS yang sudah pernah diujikan. Cambridge ESOL bersama British Council dan IDP adalah badan yang ada di balik ujian IELTS jadi sudah sangat wajar bila tingkat keotentikannya adalah yang paling mendekati materi ujian sesungguhnya.

Tapi itu sama sekali tidak berarti bahwa buku terbitan publisher lain seperti Barron's, MacMillan, Collins atau Longman memiliki kualitas yang inferior. Apapun bukunya, keseriusan dan kesungguhan dalam mempersiapkan diri jauh lebih penting.

Bandung officials want to ban smoking in the city's parks and many countries have banned smoking in all public places. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons.

There are arguments both for and against banning smoking in public areas. On one hand, the smoking industry provides a considerable amount of income for governments via taxation. However on the other hand, the medical costs of illnesses as a result of smoking and inhaling’ second-hand smoke can counter the revenue generated for central government through taxation of smoking. Also, with the banning of smoking in public areas the result is probably that more and more smokers decide to give up smoking thus reducing income via smoking taxes but also reduces the probability of smokers developing diseases related to frequent smoking such as lung and mouth cancer.

In my opinion, smoking should be banned in public places if not altogether in order to safe guard the general population’s health from the well known side-effects of smoking. Not only is active smoking unhealthy to the individual, it is also unhealthy for society in general due to the effect of second-hand smoke which can be as damaging as active smoking. Not only is smoking unhealthy it is also disgusting when cigarette end are strewn across pathways and other public places.

However, smoking (and the smoking industry) does contribute towards the general economy as well as paying for some of the damage that smoking causes through taxation. Also, it is the view of many smokers that it is their choice as to whether they smoke or not and object to any legislation aimed at either increasing the amount they have to pay in tax in order to smoke or where they are allowed to smoke. The smokers are usually supported by the smoking industry that claims that high taxation or any other limits on its product would result in the loss of jobs or the collapse of the industry as a whole.

In conclusion, it is more beneficial in the long term to reduce smoking areas such as in parks and public spaces in order to help protect the wider public's health.
