kata2 Wenger about spekulasi Januari transfer

Wenger - I am more likely to buy in January

    By Chris Harris

Arsène Wenger admits he is more likely to enter the transfer market next month in the wake of Cesc Fabregas' knee injury.

The Spanish midfielder will be sidelined for up to four months after suffering medial ligament damage during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger was already considering his options ahead of the January transfer window and, at his pre-match press conference, the Frenchman accepted that his hand might be forced by his captain's absence. However, he poured cold water over media reports linking Russian forward Andrei Arshavin with a move to Arsenal.

"Yes [I am more likely to buy], but we also have internal solutions so we are not desperate because of that," said Wenger. "Now we have a big game in front of us and before January anyway I believe it is more important to focus on our games.

"At the moment no one is going out and no one is coming in. That gives you a perfect answer! And I don't feel any need to speak about that [the Arshavin speculation] because at the moment that is not a realistic solution."

Wenger: It was a big three points for us

    Dear Supporter,

It was a big three points for us on Sunday because we gave a lot physically but in the end only got a disappointing point at Aston Villa. It was important to get the three points against Portsmouth because recently, no matter what we do, we are always reading bad headlines. It is important for the belief of our team to come away with three points.

We were intelligent, mature and we didn't make mistakes. In the end we won the game against a Portsmouth side who defended very deep and very well. I believe that, in the end, it was difficult to create chances but we had one or two good chances that got us the win.

We all know William Gallas can turn up on a set-piece and get goals. He started out as a striker and he looks the most likely to score from set-pieces because he has the timing of the run and you cannot teach that; you either have it or you don't. He has good timing to attack the ball.

People ask about William's future at Arsenal but he answers everybody by the quality of his performances on the pitch. That is what you want to do when you are a great player.

The result took us above Aston Villa - at least before they played Hull - and you could see again on Sunday with Chelsea drawing at Fulham that it is difficult for everybody. I believe everybody will drop points now at the beginning of the year. The other three will play against each other so for us we just need to be consistent.

We have gone six games without defeat but we just have to reduce the gap before we speak about the championship. In the last six games we have won three and drawn three and out of the three draws we were leading in every single game, against Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Villa, and the teams won't always come back to us.

It is important that we keep going. The team is maturing quickly and has shown great mental strength in the last six weeks.

Thanks for your support in 2008.

    sepinyaaaaaaaaaaa.. :onion-09:

    By Richard Clarke

Robin van Persie celebrated his first game as Arsenal captain with a crucial brace as Arsène Wenger’s side beat Plymouth 3-1 and stormed into the FA Cup Fourth Round.

The Dutchman nodded home just after the break and completed the scoring five minutes from time.

In between those goals David Gray put through his own net only for Karl Duguid to reply immediately to give the Pilgrims some hope of progression.

The scoreline may suggest an Arsenal cakewalk but it was anything but. In fact they were only truly safe when the skipper, who took the armband in place of Cesc Fabergas and Manuel Almunia, blasted home just before the final whistle.

However Arsenal’s job this afternoon was a) to avoid a giant-killing and b) get the job done first time.

They achieved both those aims and can now look forward to Sunday’s draw with interest.

Ahead of the game, Wenger had suggested he would play 90 per cent of a first-choice team. That is what happened.

Lukasz Fabianski started in goal – the manager had said the Pole is the Club’s Cup keeper this season – while Aaron Ramsey was added to the midfield. Van Persie returned up front and led the team out for the first time. As a result, Emmanuel Adebayor dropped to the bench.

Denilson was absent because of a back injury while Alex Song was suspended. Gael Clichy was rested so Mikael Silvestre moved to left back to accommodate the returning Johan Djourou.

For the record, Arsenal’s ongoing injury list reads: Kolo Toure (groin) Theo Walcott (shoulder), Cesc Fabregas (knee), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring tendon) and Eduardo (match fitness).

Third Round day is always ringed in red on the footballing calendar. That’s why Plymouth brought a vocal 9,000 fans to Emirates Stadium this afternoon despite some highly indifferent form back in the Championship.

It was a bright, cold and crisp day – perfect cup shock weather – and those thousands of visiting fans could sense weakness in the home side.

A couple of crunching early challenges by visiting captain Duguid also suggested the Pilgrims were not going to hero-worship this afternoon.

That said, Arsenal started brightly and might have taken the lead in the sixth minute when Ramsey’s miscued shot bobbled into the path of Van Persie who could not beat keeper Romain Larrieu with either of his two attempts.

Almost immediately, Jamie MacKie’s pacy goalbound volley was blocked at the other end. It drew a huge cheer from the visiting fans but the tide was already turning against them. On the quarter-hour, Eboue exchanged passes with Nasri and drew a fine save from Larrieu.

Fabianski needed assistance from his defence after Chris Clark worked his way to the left-hand side and sent a low cross to the near post. But Sagna’s cross over-stretched Larrieu and, when Arsenal worked the ball back into the area from the left, Bendtner slid a header wide.

Just before the half-hour, Arsenal’s persistent pressure won a corner. Initially it was cleared but Eboue cleverly clipped a ball to Gallas on the right of the area. The Frenchman’s shot was low, hard and heading for goal. It deflected off defender Chris Barker and nestled with Larrieu. The keeper did well to spread himself but he had still been fortunate.

Larrieu was starting to earn overtime. He beat away Bendtner’s shot just before Silvestre was replaced by Kieran Gibbs. Presumably the former Manchester United had picked up a knock but he had shown few signs before he went off.

For a time though, Arsenal were down to 10 men because, while the change was being made, Gallas disappeared down the tunnel. He emerged a few minutes later and carried on without any problems.

By now Plymouth were starting to gain a little confidence. Paul Gallagher’s dipping shot was hurriedly tipped over by Fabianski.

However before the half-time whistle, Eboue’s rolled shot and Bendtner’s diving header went wide while Ramsey had a shot blocked.

Plymouth had had their moments in the first half but, at the break, it seemed a question of when not if Arsenal would score.

However while the scores were 0-0, the visitors always had hope – and that means a lot on Third Round day.

That commodity began to evaporate within two minutes of the restart and should have been destroyed shortly afterwards. However there would be a sting in the tail.

Arsenal took the lead just after the break from a corner on the left-hand side. Nasri swung it into the area where an unmarked Van Persie stooped low to nod home. A very simple goal.

Within three minutes the lead was doubled. Eboue sent Van Persie free on the right of the area and Bendtner turned home his cross from close range. Though Plymouth defender David Gray may have got the last touch.

If he did, redemption was close at hand. In the 52nd minute, Luke Summerfield sent a free-kick into the area, it was half-cleared to Gray, who scooted around the right of area before sending a probing ball low into the area. Duguid stabbed it home from close range and celebrated enthusiastically in front of the visiting fans.

    It was game on again.

However the goal only served to inhibit Arsenal. Suddenly they wanted to keep what they had. Carlos Vela came on for Eboue and took up his now familiar position on the left.

Rory Fallon did ripple the top of the net from distance late on, but a couple of minutes later, Ramsey did the same thing at the other end.

With eight minutes left, Gibbs pressured Larrieu into a weak clearance and Nasri’s long range shot was cleared off the line by Marcel Seip with the keeper stranded.

A couple of minutes later, Gibbs, who was enjoying an eye-catching cameo, fired just wide.

However a third was not far away. Nasri sent Van Persie racing through the middle. The Dutchman flicked the ball over Larrieu and crashed in his shot off the bar.

Plymouth nearly scrambled home a second in injury time but Arsenal managed to clear their lines just in time.

In fact the hosts would come closer top adding a third themselves. Nasri’s deflected shot came back off the bar and Ramsey forced a low save from Larrieu, who had been Plymouth’s Man of the Match.

The visitors applauded their fantastic support at full time and, as they trudged off, received an ovation from the home fans too.

This was one of those games when both teams could leave the field with their heads held high.

    FA CUP MENAAAAAAAAAAANG

beuh, gw ko' ngerasa klo musim ini adalah salah satu musim terburuknya arsenal y, kyknya lagi kacau bgt nih

awal musim ini aja beberapa pilar arsenal dah ilang kyk hleb n' flamini (yg ini dah ilang g dapet duit lagi :onion-70: )
blom lagi cedera yg masih menimpa beberapa pilar kyk si pesakitan rosicky n' edu yg keliatannya tinggal nunggu bwat fit, kondisi diperparah ma cederanya wallcott (cederanya pas latian ma timnas lagi, ngeselin ) n' yg paling vital adalah cederanya new arsenal's skipper fabregas :onion-10: , fuh, makin menipis aja skuad intinya

konon ini katanya bikin toure juga pengen pindah karena dah g betah (note for toure: you should be grateful dah dibawa ma monsieur wenger ke arsenal, show some loyalty will ya') :onion-34:

    ganbare arsenal

Iya nih lagi 'difficult times' Arsenal... :swt:

Banyak gosip juga nih pemain-pemainnya pindah... Waktu itu gw ngobrol sama temen gw yang fans MU (kita lagi debat soal "ngapain gw ngefans tim yang kalah?", kira-kira gitu), trus dia nanya, "pemain Arsenal yang loyal banget siapa sih? Tony Adams doang?" and gw jadi bener2 kepikiran, di tim generasi Fabregas, siapa yang bakal bener2 setia sama Wenger. Fabregas? Isu pindah Madrid. Walcott? Belom perpanjang kontrak.

Harusnya dia pindah 1-2 tahun setelahnya.

Well, let's just hope for the best.

    Go go Arsenal!

Sepi amat... sori jadi double post... Ni baru dapet berita dari sportinglife.com

    WENGER HINTS AT ARSHAVIN DEAL

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that negotiations aimed at bringing Zenit St Petersburg forward Andrei Arshavin to the club are progressing well.

Arshavin has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this month and it was reported earlier this week that talks had begun over the transfer of the Russian forward, who could cost up to £20million.

Wenger, refused to rule out a move for Arshavin last week but remained coy when asked about whether the 27-year-old was close to signing for the Gunners on Friday.

"We do not want to talk too much about who we want to buy," Wenger told Arsenal TV online.

"At the moment I cannot give you any good news but in this job no news is good news. Nothing has fallen through. We are on alert in the transfer market."

He also hinted that he was also in the market for a defensive midfielder to bolster his injury-hit squad.

"That is also a priority," he said.

"We are not in the big league. We are a little short because we wanted a player like (Tomas) Rosicky to play 80% of games and he has not played at all.

"We want to spend money but as everyone knows, and as the the chairman has said, we have money available but we have limited resources, and you want to spend it in the best way possible."

The Frenchman also quashed rumours that Kolo Toure, who recently retracted a transfer request, could leave the Emirates and was adamant that nobody will leave the club this month.

"That (Toure story) is finished. We will not sell any players this month."

Wenger sees this weekend as an opportunity for Arsenal to get their Premier League title bid back on track.

Title rivals Manchester United and Chelsea will lock horns at Old Trafford on Sunday and Wenger believes the result could help his side move up from the fifth position they currently occupy should the Gunners get a result at Bolton.

"It's an interesting possibility for us to get us closer to one of the two at least, if not both of them," he added.

"Ideally I'd like it to be a 1-1, but more importantly for us, we have to focus on our game and get the points then any result will be positive because it will give us an opportunity to catch those two and the rest in front of us."

Arsenal go in to the match on the back of an unbeaten six-match run in the league and Wenger hopes another win will convince doubters that his side are serious title contenders.

He said: "We want to put in a good performance and if we do then I believe that people will change their mind about our team - they mean business, they work hard, they are serious and I want the team to be rewarded for that."

Manuel Almunia is expected to line up against the Trotters in goal tomorrow.

Wenger rubbished claims he is set to bid for wantaway Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given by saying he has full faith in his number one and back-up Lukasz Fabianski.

"We have two keepers in Almunia and Fabianski that we rate highly," Wenger said.

bener2 dag...dig...dug mang, gw kira bakalan seri lagi
wenger sampe nurunin 4 striker bo' (adebayor, persie, bendner, vela)...gol pun bru ada menit 85'...bagus g kejadian kyk lawan aston villa kemaren (kejebolan menit2 akhir)

    ARSHAVIN EYEING EMIRATES SWITCH

Russia star Andrei Arshavin has indicated he would be interested in a January move to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with the Zenit St Petersburg star and reports over the weekend suggested they have already had one bid - of around £10million - turned down by his current employers.

Arshavin is keen to leave Zenit in this month's transfer window and Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase for the Russia international, though Manchester City have also been linked with a swoop for him.

And the 27-year-old believes he would be well suited to Arsenal as they play a similar style of football to Zenit.

Arshavin is quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying: "In some games last season, we played football which was very similar to that of Arsenal."

Arshavin's favoured shirt is taken at Arsenal by William Gallas, but he added: "I would prefer my present No 10 but in the team where I hope to move it's not vacant. So I'm ready for any number they are going to offer me."

Arshavin buat gantiin Fabregas ya... kayanya bener kata bro airirin, dia kan aslinya forward...

Baru menang lawan Hull kannnn... ayo mana semangatmuuu Gooners?? :swt:

Wenger - We have other targets than Arshavin
    By Richard Clarke

Andrei Arshavin is just one of Arsenal’s targets in the transfer window.

Arsène Wenger has remained pretty tight-lipped about his reported pursuit of the Russian playmaker since the transfer window opened but, at Thursday’s press conference, the Frenchman did suggest he was hopeful about bringing the 27-year-old to Emirates Stadium. Still, a deal is not close just yet and, interestingly, Wenger added that other players have caught his eye.

“I don't think it is worth to talk about [Arshavin] at the moment because we are nowhere near signing him,” said the manager. "But he is one of the players we consider. He is not the only one we are on.

"Yes,” he replied when asked if he was still hopeful over the transfer. “But at the moment it is not an absolute worry because we have so many players who will come back soon. We focus on them.

“Also speaking about a player like Arshavin - he cannot play in the Champions League. If he comes here now he will have 15-16 games and it will take five, six, seven maybe 10 games to adapt. You don't know."

    Dari arsenal.com.

Siapa??? Perasaan waktu awal musim kemaren Arsenal lagi banyak duit, masa krisis global-nya sampe parah banget jadi ga bisa beli pemain lain... DM baru gitu...

    Btw..

    Arshavin - heading for Arsenal.

AGENT - ARSHAVIN'S ARSENAL DEAL CLOSE

Andrei Arshavin's agent says the deal taking his client to Arsenal should be concluded over the next week.

The 27-year-old Zenit St Petersburg ace has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and almost joined Arsenal's big rivals Tottenham.

But now the Gunners are in pole position to seal the forward's signature in a deal which is likely to be worth more than £15million.

The deal will also represent a club record for Arsenal, beating the £13million they paid for Sylvain Wiltord some nine years ago.

"The deal should go through this week," Arshavin's agent Dennis Lachter said in the News of the World.

"Andrei wants to go, Arsenal want him and Zenit accept they have to sell.

"It's just a matter of sorting out the sums but the indication is it'll happen soon, perhaps within days."

    Sumber, sportinglife, as usual.

Hehehe daripada Arshavin mending duitna bwt bli Diego mala sip
bs jadi playmaker skaligus naluri bertahan nya jg bagus

Kalo mo buat nyari yg kek Patrick Viera harus nya musim lalu ngejer Sissoko. Bussett di Juve skrg maen nya bagus banget. Kalo Diaby kek nya percuma, terlalu lamban determinasi nya jg kurang.

Diaby ada hubungan apa yah ma Miyabi  <---------- just kidding

ah saia juga bingung ma Diaby...
dia sebenarnya disuruh holding ball gitu ga sih ma wenger, ato itu emang karakter dia :???:

ah Denilson sebenarnya bagus, tapi sliding tackle-nya ga sebaik Flamini..

liat aja pas dulu Euro pas lawan AC milan, Kaka bener2 ga berkutik dijaga ma Flamini, bener2 bersih semua tackle dia...

beli Diego?? wah jangan dah, ntar playmaker ada 2, takutnya gaya main malah berubah... klo mau sih Loan aja sampe akhir musim..

ato mending cari DMF kuat aja
