    Capello at war

    FABIO CAPELLO and Carlo Ancelotti's personal feud erupted last night.

    England boss Capello reacted furiously after being branded 'surly' by the new Chelsea chief in his autobiography - as SunSport exclusively revealed yesterday.

    The Three Lions boss stormed: "I don't recognise myself in the description that has been given."

    We told you how Ancelotti has never forgiven Capello for the way he treated him as a player at AC Milan - and accused him of rowing with players and almost coming to blows with Ruud Gullit.

    But Capello hit back and hinted Ancelotti spends too much time trying to be matey with players and reporters.

    He said: "Sometimes I fight with one player. Not a lot, one.

    "Usually I speak with the players but I never went to dinner with them.

    "I never went to dinner with the journalists. I prefer to go with my wife or with friends.

    "I think the rules of the club are 'I'm a manager, you are a player'. I respect the players and I ask respect from them. Not more than this.

    "If you want to be a friend of the players, you be. Ancelotti won with his style. I won with ours."

    In his autobiography, Ancelotti said of Capello: "He was surly . . . in life, we can't like everyone we meet. I and Fabio have different characters."

    Capello will have other things on his mind today, though, as England bid for a sixth straight win in the World Cup qualifiers.

    He added: "Everyone must play to their best. No excuses that we are tired, we want to go on holiday."

    Drogba And Bosingwa Suspended, Chelsea Fined

    Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will have to join his teammate Jose Bosingwa during next season's Champions League group stages in watching from the stands, as both players have been suspended from the European competition from their inproper conduct during Chelsea's semi-final ousting by Barcelona.

    UEFA released the punishment for both the players and the club today on their official website, with the statement concluding that Chelsea have been fined €100,000 for the inappropriate behaviour from their staff and fans - who proceeded to throw projectiles at their opposing support during the incident.

    Drogba's punishment will see him miss out on four of the UEFA club competition matches, while Jose Bosingwa got of a tad lighter, the Portugal international only having to sit out for three. The pair are also said to be on a probationary period of two years, sanctioned by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body.

    Both the players and club have been informed by the institution that they may appeal against the decisions reached within three days.

    Bryan Gunn harus merasakan getirnya pemecatan ketika baru memimpin Norwich di satu laga.

    Belum satu minggu memimpin Norwich di laga resmi, Bryan Gunn sudah dibebastugaskan dari jabatannya sebagai pelatih.

    Kekalahan telak 7-1 Norwich atas Colchester di pertandingan pertama League One Inggris diduga menjadi alasan utama pihak klub mendepak Gunn.

    "Bryan sudah bekerja keras tanpa lelah untuk klub ini lebih dari dua dekade. Akan tetapi, manajemen melakukan pertemuan minggu ini setelah kekalahan memalukan di pertandingan pertama kami di musim ini.," ujar chief executive Norwich David McNally di situs klub.

    "Manajemen, setelah melakukan pertimbangan mendalam, merasa perubahan adalah cara terbaik yang bisa diambil, untuk bisa mengambil peluang terbaik yang mungkin kami dapatkan untuk mewujudkan target kami."

    Sebagai gantinya, asisten manajer Ian Butterworth menggantikan Gunn untuk sementara waktu saat Norwich menghadapi Exeter akhir pekan ini.

    Norwich itu bukan klub asal-asalan.

    Mereka pernah main di Premier League, jadi kekalahan sebesar itu dari Colchester memang benar2 cukup memalukan.
