The Azzurri’s New Away Kit Has Been Unveiled in Florence and Will Make Its Debut Tomorrow​

​

A white top with a three-coloured stripe representing Italy’s flag, the FIGC emblem in 3D and a blue collar. This is the Azzurri’s new away kit, which has been unveiled tonight by actress Cristiana Capotondi during a presser at the Artemio Franchi stadium in Florence. Antonio Conte’s men will wear it tomorrow night for the first time during their European qualifier against Malta.

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio, PUMA Global Director of Sports Marketing and Sports Licensing Johan Adamsson, FIGC General Director Michele Uva and PUMA Global Creative Director Torsten Hochstetter were also in attendance at the event. The kit was worn by seven exceptional role models, such as Azzurri players Gigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini and Marco Verratti, as well as Alia Guagni from the Women’s national team, Alessio Battini from the Beach Soccer national team, Susanna Nicoletti from the Women’s Futsal national team and Marco Ercolessi from the Futsal national team. At their side were Azzurri manager Antonio Conte and team manager Gabriele Oriali.

“We want to thank PUMA for this new kit,” said FIGC President Tavecchio, “which will be worn by the Azzurri squad tomorrow. In the future it will be worn by all 17 of our football, futsal and beach soccer national teams. This jersey represents the most iconic and popular symbol of Italy’s sporting world, we are sure that its three-coloured stripe will help to promote the image of Italian football and Italy in general throughout the world. PUMA is a great partner for the FIGC”.

“This new jersey has been created with great attention for detail,” Hochstetter added. “We are proud of the final result and very excited to see it worn on the pitch and we wish Italy good luck in their bid to qualify for UEFA EURO 2016 in France next summer”.

“The Azzurri’s shirt is a symbol of love for the national team,” concluded Michele Uva. “We have been working closely with PUMA to make our Italian footballing tradition more international: a welcome development, if you consider the fact that we sell most of our kits in the USA”.

The Azzurri’s new away kit has been inspired by the tradition, passion and pride of Italian football. Moreover, it makes use of the most modern technology available, such us the ACTV Thermo-R technology which improves the performances of the players, the ACTV tape in strategic points inside the shirt to grip on to the wearer’s skin and facilitate body cooling and warming, and the PUMA dryCELL technology, designed to keep the player dry and comfortable.

The new Azzurri’s away jersey, available with or without ACTV technology, as well as a collection of associated items, are already on sale on puma.com/Italy.
