The original SHIFT game was released in September 2009 and has sold through close to five million copies globally. Its success was propelled by the revolutionary true driver's experience - a game design that was heralded by critics as more visceral, more physical and more intense than any other title in the sim category. Capturing the physicality and brutality of racing at 200mph has been the leading area of innovation by the award-winning development team at Slightly Mad Studios. SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED builds on the true drivers experience by introducing the driver's battle, an even more authentic and primal feeling of power and speed which elevates the fundamental competitive race into a struggle for supremacy against other drivers and even the track itself. SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED also incorporates the next generation of Need for Speed Autolog - the groundbreaking network that connects friends for epic head-to-head races and compares player stats for the ultimate social racing competition

Electronic Arts announced today the official releasedate of Shift 2 Unleashed: the game will be available in Europe on March 24th & 25th, 2011 and in North America on March 29th, 2011.

Additionally you can preorder the game and get your hands on the Limited Edition, which contains exclusive access to the Nissan Silvia spec.R Aero (S15), Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, and Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 as well as 40 unique career events.

The career events are Single-Type race events where a driver’s skill is pushed to the limits as each player competes in the same make of car; Old vs. New Challenge events in which classic cars go head-to-head against their modern counterparts; and Manufacturer Showdown events that pits some of the most iconic car rivalries against each other in an all-out-battle to prove which car is the best.

Shift 2 Unleashed wants to offer an intense race experience and the developers are focusing on authenticity and realism.

Career

During the » career of Shift 2 Unleashed you will happen to see yourself challenged by some top race drivers, through every racing discipline. You'll need to give your best to beat these rivals.

In Retro you get to drive the classic vehicles, without many of the modern conveniences we've come to expect from our cars. During your career you will have to stand up to your rival Darren McNamara and his Team Need for Speed Toyota AE86. If you beat him, you get his car, which might be useful for upcoming drift races.

Works on the other hand pushes your cat to its limits, by installing the top racing parts available, and ensuring you get as much out of your car as humanly possible. Nothing will make your car faster or more competitive on the track than a Works conversion.
Your rival will be Mad Mike Whiddett, driving the Team Need for Speed Mazda RX-8.

In both Drift and Muscle sections you will have to face 2010 Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.
He'll be trying his best to make sure you don't pass him on the track or top him in the many epic drift battles you're sure to have. Defeating JR will require an extremely high level of precision on the track in both disciplines, so if you're not bringing your A-game, it's probably best to sit on the bench.

If you're able to topple JR, you can win each of his cars: the » Monster Energy/ Falken Tire Ford Mustang GT he uses during his Formula Drift season, and our personal favorite: the » Team Need for Speed Ford Mustang RTR-X, designed by Andy Blackmore. Make sure your chinstrap is done up tight and safety harnesses are buckled in securely, because it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Another rival, which we presented together with the » Sumo Power Nissan GT-R GT1, is the 2000 FIA GT Champion Jamie Campbell-Walter!
He made his debut in the Formula Vauxhall Junior Winter Series in 1993, taking second place in the championship. Since his debut Jamie has had a very impressive career in the TVR Tuscan Challenge, British GT Championship and the FIA GT Championship.

He will be driving the » SUMO POWER Nissan GT-R GT1 and he will be driving it well. He's got a standing offer that if anyone can knock him into second place, they deserve to win the GT-R.

EA revealed the last racing discipline, you can play in Shift 2 Unleashed: Endurance Races!

Basically Endurance races are very long races, where not only your driving skills are testet, but your mental toughness as well. There are many different racing leagues that participate in endurance races ranging from the American Le Mans Series to the FIA GT1 & GT3 series.

The Endurance rival is none other than Tommy Milner, ALMS driver for Corvette Racing. In SHIFT 2, he'll be driving the BMW M3 GT ALMS which can be won only if you manage to beat him on the track.

di NFS HP yg terbaru ada iklan Shift 2.
NFS HP lebih ke arcade gameplaynya, mungkin yg Shift 2 lebih ke real.

 

Mana ... ? Kok ngak tau. Yang saya lihat sih iklannya NFS World Online.

Shift 1 dan 2 ini memang lebih condong ke simulation. NFS Hot Pursuit lebih ke arcade, NFS World lebih ke customization.

Kalau ngak meleset, biasanya EA selalu tepat waktu, sih sekitar Spring 2011. Tanggal pastinya belum ada.

Ya pasti lebih ke simulation. Menurut EA, SHIFT lebih ke simulation, HOT PURSUIT genre arcade, dan WORLD ONLINE genre customization.

 

Ada cuaca malamnya juga toh.. wah...wah... tambah sip ajah tuh game..

 

Mantep nih kyknya.. Bru pertama kali ada pagi dan malam di satu game..
Klo ga salah liat di trailer youtube ada yg sudut pandang dari dalam helm drivernya y..
