    Blizzard, the maker of World of Warcraft, is the world's most bankable games studio, according to a study.

    Online role playing game World of Warcraft boasts more than 10 million subscribers worldwide and the firm's revenues top $1.34 billion annually.

    Nintendo takes second spot, with Rockstar North, makers of Grand Theft Auto, third, and Capcom fith.

    The list was compiled by Develop magazine and is based on sales figures, review scores and industry standing.

    Develop's editor-in-chief Michael French said: "World of Warcraft has... truly penetrated pop culture, inspiring everything from web memes to episodes of The Simpsons, showing Blizzard's ability to not only create compelling experiences but also court user expectations."

    Twenty six UK studios make the Top 100 list, including Travellers Tales (12th), maker of the Lego videogames, and Media Molecule (18th), the creator of LittleBigPlanet.

    Peter Molyneux's Lionhead, developer of the Fable games, is awarded the 22nd spot.

    Twelve separate developer studios owned by Electronic Arts, the second biggest games publisher in the world, make the list.

    Treyarch and Infinity Ward, the developers which alternate the creation of Call of Duty video games, are at seven and eight in the chart.

    The list reflects the changing nature of the video games landscape with mobile game developers PopCap (35th) and PlayFish (98th) also in the Top 100.[BBC]

    Wah Ubisoft di peringkat 6 ya? Gamenya OK2 banget.. Aku kira dia di peringkat 2 atau 3 gitu.

    Nintendo origin

    Nintendo started as a small Japanese business by Fusajiro Yamauchi near the end of 1889 as Nintendo Koppai. Based in Kyoto, Japan, the business produced and marketed a playing card game called Hanafuda. In recognition of its card-playing roots, the name "Nintendo" means "leave luck to heaven".[1] The cards, which were all handmade, soon began to gain popularity, and Yamauchi had to hire assistants to mass produce cards to keep up with demand.

    Fusajiro Yamauchi did not have a son to take over the family business. Following common Japanese tradition, he adopted his son-in-law, Sekiryo Kaneda (Sekiryo Yamauchi, after the marriage). In 1929, Yamauchi retired from the company and allowed Sekiryo Yamauchi to take over the company as president. In 1933, Sekiryo Yamauchi established a joint venture with another company and renamed the company Yamauchi Nintendo & Company.

    In 1947, Sekiryo established the company Marufuku Company, Ltd., to distribute the Hanafuda cards, as well as several other brands of cards that had been introduced by Nintendo. Sekiryo Yamauchi also had only daughters, so again his son-in-law (Shikanojo Inaba, renamed Shikanojo Yamauchi) was adopted into the family. Shikanojo never became president because he left his family. Subsequently, his son Hiroshi was brought up by his grandparents. Hiroshi later took over the company instead of his father.

    Tergantung awardnya dimana itu, apalagi kalo sistem voting, kalo di barat itu rasis ama developer timur, jadi jarang banget deh ampe kayak square, NI, ATLUS bisa masuk ke sana...

    Hmm Gw rasa list ini tidak ada rasis2nya sama se-x. List ini diambil berdasarkan pendapatan para developer pada tahun 2008-2009 ini, bukan berdasarkan kualitas game (yah kalo pendapatan mereka tinggi si harusnya kualitas gamenya jg paling gak rata2 bgs jg si) Konami kurang gencar develop game baru (MGS 4 cm bwt PS3, console yang penjualannya paling kecil dibanding X-Box 360 dan si juara berdasarkan penjualan, Nintendo Wii), Last Remnant-nya Square Enix dianggap oleh khalayak ramai mengecewakan shg gamenya tidak laku scr besar2an (Kebanyakan yang beli cm Square Enix Fanboy, tdk seperti seri FF yang dibeli bahkan oleh yang bkn penggemar Square Enix). EA gamenya rada kurang bgs akhir2 ini tapi karena fans game sport banyak berhasil menjerat pembeli. Blizzard no 1. karena WoW yang ada biaya bulanan. Sementara game FFXI(online) dianggap tidak bgt bagus.

    Kalo dari kualitas harusnya paling gak developer kanada, Bioware (Mass Effect, NWN1, Jade Empire, Star Wars KoTOR I) masuk top 10 karena developer game ini blom pernah menghasilkan game dgn kategori biasa sampai jelek, rasanya semuanya dianggap lumayan sampai memuaskan
