Kl vocab sih tinggal buka dictionary. Grammar tinggal googling.

Posting 1-Introduction to the first material

Basic in Writing a paragraph.

Starting from this post, I will write the whole postings in English. Hopefully, it will be understandable yet error-free. In this posting, we will see how to write an effective paragraph in English. This thread will somehow give some assignments which will help you to understand the material better. From December 17th until December 22nd, we will mainly focus on how we develop our ideas. You will be given assignments for you to understand better. However, the assignments are not compulsory. You can submit your assignments through posting. One condition is your paragraph will be checked only within the date of the period. Hopefully, you understand the term and condition.

Posting 2 - Preparation in Writing

Writing is an activity to communicate the writer's idea through words and dynamic sequence in texts. In writing, there are 4 steps.

1. Begin with a point
A paragraph should have a point to be elaborated. The point usually known as Topic sentence. This point will be elaborated in your paragraph later. Let's take a look at this example.

Topic: The current state of development
Topic Sentence: The current state of development is not ideal for the growth of Indonesia.

The topic sentence above shows clear pathway for the argumentation later in the writing. In your paragraph later you will be required to present a clear topic sentence so that readers can connect the paragraph to the main idea.

2. Prepare supports
After you have done making a topic sentence, you have to prepare supports to explain your topic sentence. Each supports should be given clear explanations which will represent your reasoning towards your topic sentence.

Example:
Topic Sentence: The current state of development are not suitable for the growth of Indonesia.

1st point: Education
A. Indonesian education is not evenly distributed
B. National standard is still questioned

2nd point: Corruption
A. Our government is still corrupt.

3rd point: Infrastructure
A. Our Infrastructure is messed up
B. There are a lot of unmaintained important structure

The example above shows the technique in writing a paragraph. In the point, you can either to choose write a word or a sentence. For example, instead of writing corruption, we can write "We are still facing corruption."

This conclude this posting. You are now required to find a topic and prepare topic sentence and the supports.

Yes, this thread is important to member, but we're still waiting for the statistic of this thread, especially number of view and replies.

I think it'd be necessary to create two different English-based threads, with two different purposes.

1) One thread for assisting others to solve their problems in learning English (posts in this one may be written in bilingual-mode or mixed-language);

2) and another one for the English lounge, where everyone are forced to use English, no matter what. We can use it for practicing, and sharpening our skills. Each member may correct others' mistakes in this one.

Just some thoughts.
