Hockenheim rules out hosting German GP

Hockenheim boss Georg Seiler says the circuit cannot host this year's German Grand Prix due to the short turnaround to sell tickets.

In January F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone said Hockenheim would host the Germany race on July 19 having previously alternated the race with the Nurburgring. But circuit boss Georg Seiler says it is impossible for Hockenheim to host this year's race due to short amount of time it had to prepare.

"We wanted to represent the German Gand Prix in Hockenheim despite the fact that we had not been committed to that," Seiler told Bild. "The moment to organise a race here has passed, otherwise the quality of the event would have suffered."

Seiler added there was not enough time to sell tickets and that the circuit would have been unlikely to reach last year's total of 52,000 race day fans. He said attendances had been dropping regularly since the retirement of Michael Schumacher.

It means Formula One faces the prospect of no grand prix in a country home to Mercedes and responsible for nine drivers' championships since 2000. Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg and Nico Hulkenberg are the German drivers on the 2015 grid.

If the German Grand Prix does not go ahead this season's calendar will shrink back to 19 races.

German Grand Prix officially dropped from 2015 calendar

The German Grand Prix has been officially removed from the 2015 calendar by the sport's governing body, the FIA.

The Nurburgring was originally scheduled to host the event but it has fallen on financial difficulty, while Hockenheim ruled itself out of the running after being named the replacement by Bernie Ecclestone. The FIA has now officially declared the German Grand Prix will not happen this year, the first time since 1960 the race has been absent from the calendar.

On Friday, the FIA World Motor Sport Council announced the race had been dropped because "the CRH [commercial rights holder] and promoter did not reach an ageement." There will not be a three-week gap between the British Grand Prix on July 5 and the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 26, before the four-week summmer break.

sptnya jumlah race f1 g boleh lebih dr 19 sejak tahun kmarin selalu aja ada yg rontok ,pdhl Mercedes lagi dominan2nya tp no german gp

Rosberg fastest as Hamilton has engine trouble

Nico Rosberg set the fastest time in the opening practice session at the Malaysian Grand Prix as Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton had his session cut short with an engine problem.

Hamilton's Mercedes was returned to the garage soon after it stopped at Turn 9 for the mechanics to work on and before the end of the session the team had traced the problem to a hardware issues with the power unit. An engine problem may require Hamilton to use more of his power unit components for the year but, while it would not be a good thing at this stage of the season, it would not result in a grid penalty this weekend.

Mercedes still had an advantage over the rest of the field, although it was cut down from 0.8s to 0.3s by Kimi Raikkonen on his final run of the session. Both Ferraris were able to get within a second of Rosberg, although the track was in a better condition by the end of the 90 minutes which allowed both Raikkonen and Vettel to improve while Rosberg was setting slower times on heavier fuel.

One clear positive Ferrari can glean from the times is that Raikkonen was quickest in the fast first and final sectors, which is further proof the team has cut the power deficit to Mercedes over the winter. Despite the positive start, however, Ferrari's closest rivals this weekend are still expected to be Williams, which were eighth and 11th but have a history of running heavy in Friday practice.

After a double retirement in Australia, Lotus will be buoyed by Romain Grosjean's time, which was fourth fastest and 1.419s off Rosberg. Grosjean was fast through the speedtrap, suggesting the Lotus will be quick on Sepang's two long straights, even if it may be lacking some downforce to the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari in the corners.

Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz was the highest-placed Renault-powered driver in fifth, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull and team-mate Max Verstappen in seventh. The second Red Bull of Daniil Kvyat was ninth ahead of Marcus Ericsson, who rounded out the top ten in the Sauber.

Fernando Alonso was 14th fastest on his return to the cockpit, and although the McLaren-Honda was still over 2.7s slower than Rosberg, it appears to be closer to the pace than it was in Australia. Jenson Button was 17th fastest in the second MP4-30, with a time that was only better than the two Manors. Will Stevens was the fastest of the two Manor drivers, but still over 6.5s slower than the benchmark time set by Rosberg. Nevertheless, just making it out on track was progress for the team compared to Australia.

Hamilton tops FP2 despite niggling issues

Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the second practice session despite car problems limiting his track time over the 90 minutes.

Hamilton set a 1:39.790 with 25 minutes remaining in the session, but his whole programme was set back as the team fixed a power unit inlet problem from the first session. The good news for Hamilton is that the issue will not affect his allocation of power units for the year, but just as he returned to the track 40 minutes into FP2 the team noticed a telemetry issue. Even on his return from his quick lap, Hamilton radioed to inform the team of "downgraded" gear shifts, suggesting there may well be more to come from the Mercedes.

Kimi Raikkonen set the second fastest time and was at the top of the timesheets for 20 minutes before Hamilton switched to the medium compound. The Ferrari driver was just over 0.05s quicker than Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, but Rosberg seemed to struggle to get a clean lap as his medium tyre time from FP2 was slower than his best lap on the hards in FP1. Sebastian Vettel was 0.511s off his Ferrari team-mate Raikkonen but spun at Turn 11 on his first hot lap on the medium tyres. He lost the rear on entry in very similar fashion to Roberto Merhi a few moments earlier, but while Vettel was able to stop his slide before the gravel, the Manor ended up beached and brought the session to a halt while the car was cleared.

Daniil Kvyat was fourth fastest for Red Bull and only 0.556s off Hamilton - a big step up on his FP1 run. However, his car suffered a problem at the end of his final run and he was forced to return to the pits slowly for further investigations. Valtteri Bottas was sixth fastest and 0.660s off the pace, but Williams often runs heavier than its rivals in practice before turning up the wick in qualifying. He was 0.11s quicker than his team-mate Felipe Massa, who in turn was ahead of Vettel after the Ferrari driver's spin.

Max Verstappen, Marcus Ericsson and the second Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top ten, although Ricciardo was limited to just six laps. After a strong first practice session, Romain Grosjean was also had limited mileage in FP2 with just seven laps before the team called an end to his day in the garage.

McLaren's struggles continued and Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button were left in 16th and 17th with times that were only quicker than Grosjean and the two Manors. Between the two cars, McLaren amassed 50 laps in 34C heat, which will provide useful data as it continues to learn about the new Honda engine.

Despite Merhi's spin, Manor will take some positives from Will Steven's lap, which was within 107% of the best time set by Hamilton. If he can recreate a similar standard in Q1, Stevens will guarantee Maurssia a place on the grid for the first time this year on Sunday.

walaupun cuma hari jumat boleh lah gembira sedikit dgn posisi Kimi :ogterbang:

kalo ada video fp1 sm fp 2 pasti gw post di mari :ogngacir:

    Rosberg fastest ahead of qualifying

Nico Rosberg set the pace in the final practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix, although Mercedes' stranglehold on the top of the timesheets appeared to loosen ever so slightly as six cars managed to lap within a second of the W06 Hybrid.

However, it should be noted that Rosberg's lap was hampered by Felipe Nasr's Sauber in the first corner, and so he may have been able to extend his lead further with a clean lap. What's more, Mercedes have a history of turning up the power and dramatically lowering its lap times when it comes to the business end of qualifying. Lewis Hamilton was 0.184s off his Mercedes team-mate as his slightly frustrating weekend with limited set-up time continued and he completed just 10 laps over the hour.

Once again, Kimi Raikkonen was the best of the rest behind Mercedes and was 0.555s off Rosberg. The Ferrari was quickest in the first sector, but lost 0.7s in the middle sector, suggesting Mercedes is running more downforce in the confidence it will be able to build a decent lead in the race without worrying about its straight-line speed deficit. Sebastian Vettel was fourth fastest as Ferrari appears to have a slight edge over Williams, with a margin of 0.1 to 0.2 seconds.

Daniel Ricciardo was seventh ahead of the two Toro Rossos, which again sneaked into the top ten with Carlos Sainz nearly 0.3s quicker than his team-mate Max Verstappen. Marcus Ericsson continued a strong weekend by setting the tenth fastest time ahead of the two Lotuses and the second Red Bull of Daniil Kvyat.

Fernando Alonso's return to the cockpit continued to show signs of progress for McLaren as he managed to split the two Force Indias - a small but not insignificant improvement on the opening race. Felipe Nasr was 17th fastest after running wide on his hot lap, while Jenson Button was 18th and 0.3s off team-mate Alonso after an overnight engine change.

The two Manors were again at the foot of the timesheets, but this time outside 107% of the fastest time. If the Manors are not able to set a time within 107% of the best Q1 time, their participation in Sunday's race will be left to the discretion of the stewards.

Hamilton beats Vettel to pole in the wet

Lewis Hamilton just held onto pole position ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by 0.074s at the Malaysian Grand Prix as rain played a factor in a tense qualifying session in Sepang.

Nico Rosberg had to settle for third, 0.465s off Hamilton and 0.391s off Vettel, after failing to improve on either of his two final runs. The wet track opened up a slither of hope for Ferrari and Vettel nearly capitalised on it as the Mercedes got in each other's way on their second runs.

Hamilton was the first to make the most of fresh intermediate rubber and his initial attempt on a new set of tyres stood as the pole position time by the end of the session. Rosberg's first attempt was not so good and his second lap was then hampered as a Williams exited the pits in front of him at Turn 1. That caused Rosberg to abandon his lap, but in doing so he hampered Hamilton, who was on an even quicker lap behind him.

For Hamilton it made no difference as his first lap was quick enough for pole, but Rosberg dropped to third behind Vettel, who improved late in the session. Daniel Ricciardo managed to take fourth for Red Bull ahead of team-mate Daniil Kvyat and the Toro Rosso of Max Verstappen, as three of the four Renaultp-powered cars took advantage of the conditions. Williams lost out in the conditions after initially going out on full wet tyres before pitting twice again for intermediates. Felipe Massa was left seventh ahead of Romain Grosjean, who also went out on full wets initially, and Valtteri Bottas. Marcus Ericsson rounded out the top ten as he continued to show impressive pace in the Sauber this weekend.

There was only enough time for one slick tyre run in Q2 before the rain came, meaning it was all about positioning at the pit lane exit to get a clean run and qualify for Q3. Vettel enjoyed a clear track at the front of the queue, but his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen did not and was knocked out after losing time in the final corner behind the Sauber of Ericsson. Pastor Maldonado was also knocked out along with the two Force Indias of Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez and the Toro Rosso of Carlos Sainz, which had looked capable of a better performance based on practice times.

Felipe Nasr dropped out in a dry Q1 in the second Sauber along with the two McLarens and two Manors. Jenson Button managed to beat McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso, but despite positive signs through the weekend the disadvantage of the detuned Honda power unit left him 0.3s shy of Nasr's Sauber.

Roberto Mehri was the only one of the two Manors to set a time, but it was 0.4s shy of 107% of the fastest time by Lewis Hamilton, meaning his participation will be left down to the discretion of the stewards. Will Stevens, meanwhile, failed to clock a lap due to a fuel pressure problem, but his FP2 time on Friday would have been quick enough to get within 107% and therefore he is likely to be allowed to race.

no comment deh kecewa gw Kimi stuck in traffic g lolos Q3 :ogngacir:

Ferrari masih kalah jauh dari Mercedez sebenarnya :hehe:

Vettel waktu SC keluar dia gak masuk dan dia cuma pit stop 2 kali :hmm:

Mercedez masuk pit dan pit stop 3 kali, dan juga harus bantai mobil yang di depan dia :hmm:

Inti dari balapan ini, Ferrari kalau mau menang strategynya harus lebih baik dari Mercedez :hmm:

Kalau main adu mesin kujamin ketinggalan jauh lagi

Prediksi race berikutnya Hamilton akan merajalela lagi hehehhe just my 2 cents . mudah mudahan F.Massa bisa podium

Lewis Hamilton puts Mercedes back on top in China

Mercedes resumed business as usual during the first practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton led team-mate Nico Rosberg at the top of the timesheets.

Malaysian Grand Prix race-winner Sebastian Vettel returned to reality with a gap of over a second to Hamilton despite a late attempt to improve on his final run. The deficit at this stage of the weekend is unlikely to be a true indicator of form, but it appears the cooler temperatures and different car characteristics required at the Shanghai International Circuit may suit Mercedes over Ferrari. Mercedes spent much of its morning analysing new front wing designs, aimed at getting its drivers back ahead of Vettel this weekend, but team boss Toto Wolff was still wary of a long run performed by Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen at the end of the session.

Raikkonen's fastest single lap was a further 0.5s off Vettel's best, but he did not chase a late quick lap in the closing minutes of the session like his Ferrari team-mate. With track conditions improving with every lap, FP2 will be a better indicator of the relative performances of the two Ferrari drivers as they also get a chance to sample the soft tyres.

There was a tight battle outside the top four with the two Red Bulls and Carlos Sainz's Toro Rosso within a tenth of fifth-placed Felipe Nasr in the Sauber. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa rounded out the top ten, although it's rare for Williams to show its true hand until later in the weekend.

Jenson Button showed the early signs of further improvements for McLaren with the 13th fastest lap and a time that was within a second of Nasr in fifth. Fernando Alonso finished the session 17th and gained another 20 laps of experience behind the wheel of the Honda-powered MP4-30.

Jolyon Palmer made his race weekend debut for Lotus, standing in for Romain Grosjean who will return to the cockpit from FP2 onwards. Palmer made a mistake on his first set of tyres, but he was not alone in running off track over the 90 minutes with the tricky braking zones at Turn 1 and Turn 14 catching out rookies and world champions alike.

Lewis Hamilton sets pace in FP2 but Ferrari remains in the mix

Lewis Hamilton topped both Friday practice sessions ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, but Ferrari again showed signs of being able to challenge Mercedes over a race distance during the two 90 minute sessions.

Following Sebastian Vettel's victory in Malaysia, the big question heading to China was whether Ferrari could sustain its challenge to Mercedes' F1 hegemony. The times in first practice suggested the pendulum had swung back in favour of the world champions, but in second practice Kimi Raikkonen offered hope of a genuine battle emerging for the second race in a row.

Raikkonen's quick lap was within 0.5s of Hamilton's best, but it was the long-run pace that looked most impressive as his Ferrari proved quick and consistent on the medium tyres. Hamilton said afterwards that his medium tyres "did not feel too good", but the significantly quicker soft compound looks likely to be the tyre of choice if degradation of the front left is kept under control.

Both Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg failed to impress on their hot laps, with Vettel 0.7s off team-mate Raikkonen and Rosberg running wide at the final corner on his soft tyre attempt. As a result Rosberg was a full second off the pace of Hamilton on a weekend when he needs to reassert himself in the in-team battle at Mercedes.

The laps of Vettel and Rosberg allowed Daniel Ricciardo to go third fastest in the Red Bull, although he was still over a second off Hamilton. Ricciardo was running a low-drag rear wing on the RB11, which helped mask the power deficit of the Renault engine but needs to be balanced against the extra strain the reduced downforce will put on the tyres. He was 0.4s quicker than team-mate Daniil Kvyat running the old rear wing, whose session came to an end in the barriers when his brakes failed at Turn 14.

Valtteri Bottas was seventh fastest for Williams while team-mate Felipe Massa failed to set a representative time after losing his car under braking for Turn 14. Massa was on his quick lap when the rear of the Williams stepped out under braking and grazed the barrier, knocking off the front wing endplate. The accident left Massa 17th by the end of the session and that allowed Jenson Button to creep into the top 10 with a time two seconds off Hamilton's best. Fernando Alonso was another 0.5s shy of Button in 12th, but the overall performance was positive for McLaren and Honda as they up the performance of the MP4-30 again this weekend.

The session also had a bizarre and unwelcome interruption when a spectator managed to gain access to the pit straight and sprint across the breadth of the track to the pit wall as a Force India exited the final corner. He was quickly apprehended by marshals and passed on to the police, but the intrusion will be a concern for the race organisers.

semoga besok dan waktu race Kimi lancar2 aja g ada masalah spt di Malaysia

Nico Rosberg is adamant his race was compromised by team-mate Lewis Hamilton at the Chinese Grand Prix.

The middle stint of the race provided the spark to ignite the intra-team battle at Mercedes this year as Hamilton appeared to go slower than the car's true pace in order to back Rosberg into Sebastian Vettel behind. Hamilton claimed he was simply looking after his tyres, but Rosberg believes his team-mate unnecessarily made life difficult for him and jeopardised Mercedes' one-two victory .

"I didn't feel [my race was compromised], it was a fact that my race was compromised and it's a scenario we went through before the race, that for the individual in front, for himself and the best possible race, you back the guy in second into Sebastian Vettel," Rosberg said. "That's the best race for the guy in front but not good for the team because it puts the guy in second into an unnecessarily risky position.

"Did Lewis do it on purpose or not? I don't know, I can't answer that, but in the press conference he said he was just thinking about himself and that's an interesting indication and statement. That's it and I'm frustrated as a result because my race was compromised and my last stint was too long because I had to cover Sebastian and my tyres just died at the end of the race."

After the race Hamilton said Rosberg could have tried to pass him if he wanted, but Rosberg said he was in a Catch 22 situation because if he tried to pass Hamilton he would ruin his tyres and come under threat from Vettel and if he did not he would still face a challenge from Vettel because of the slower pace. He then used Vettel as an example of how fragile the front tyres were when running behind another car at the Shanghai International Circuit.

"The problem is that we have the same car and as soon as I tried to take him on he will just make sure he has a gap on the long straights so I can't get by and after one or two laps my tyres will take such a hit. Sebastian was saying the same because he was trying to take me on because he was quicker than us at the time and he couldn't even get into the DRS zone and all he did was destroy his tyres, so it was not a good approach for him. And in the end of the stint just before his pit stop, which was quite early in the stint, he dropped off from me a little bit again because his tyres were shot trying to get close to me. I learned that in the first stint by trying to put pressure on Lewis but it just shoots the tyres and it doesn't work."

Rosberg said Hamilton's pace soon after he and Vettel had pitted was further proof that his team-mate was trying to back him into the Ferrari.

"I'm just stating facts because it's impossible to know from the outside. The other facts are that once we pitted his pace was a lot quicker and looking a lot stronger overall. That's another fact, which suggests it would have been good for the team if he had sped up a bit earlier on."

BTW, ane pendukung Vettel sih... :oghoho:
